Regents Approve NMSU Administration's Tuition Plan

New Mexico State University is getting a new tuition plan.

The university's regents on Thursday's approved the administration's proposal for a plan that provides students with discounted per-credit tuition rates for taking more credits each semester.

The Las Cruces Sun-News reports that the plan also lowers tuition costs for students taking 12 or fewer credits per semester.

University President Garrey Carruthers says the university is trying to encourage students to take more courses each semester and have less student loan debt after they graduate.
