A Texas Congressman in the national spotlight comes to New Mexico today (Friday). Last year…Rep. Joaquin Castro was elected to serve in Texas Congressional District 20, which covers a large portion of San Antonio and the surrounding county.
Tonight….he’s the keynote speaker for a dinner at the Hotel Albuquerque that’s also a fundraiser for the New Mexico Democratic party. Castro recently spoke in Washington D-C at the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington.
Joaquin Castro’s identical twin brother, Julián Castro, was elected in 2011 to his second term as Mayor of San Antonio. The Mayor made headlines after a rousing address the Democratic National Convention....an appearance widely compared to President Obama’s convention speech in 2004.
