Repeat Offender Could Get Out Of Jail Soon

By KRWG News

Albuquerque – A man who Albuquerque police say has been arrested 118 times can get out of jail by paying $250.

Court records show 54-year-old Eloy Joe Chavez is at the Metropolitan Detention Center on two warrants stemming from a property crimes case from 2009.

He was arrested Sept. 2 and could be freed soon because his bond was set at $2,500 cash or surety, which means he needs to post only 10 percent.

The Albuquerque Journal (http://bit.ly/ralnLh) says Chavez has also been arrested over the past 20 years for criminal trespassing, refusing to obey an officer, DWI on at least three occasions, failure to appear in court, burglary, larceny and disorderly conduct.

Chavez served about eight years in prison after a 1995 arrest on felony burglary, larceny and tampering with evidence.
