Las Cruces – A Minnesota-based maker of radiators and cooling systems likes the Las Cruces area and plans to set up shop in an old soda pop building.
Las Cruces economic developers say L&M Radiator Inc. of Hibbing, Minn., could hire as many as 60 workers by July and eventually as many as 200 to work multiple shifts.
The Las Cruces Sun-News says the company manufactures industrial-sized radiators. L&M did have a plant in El Paso, but mothballed it two years ago. The newspaper reports the plant had been in operation in El Paso for 30 years. However a downturn in the oil, gas and mining industries led to the Texas plant closure.
