Reward For Information In Las Cruces Armed Robbery

  Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that helps identify the two armed suspects who threatened customers of a popular restaurant and held up the business Saturday evening.

Shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, Las Cruces Police were dispatched to the report of an armed robbery at Chilitos restaurant at 2405 S. Valley Dr.

Witnesses told detectives that two men, both armed with handguns, entered the restaurant shortly after 9 p.m. One of the suspects stayed near the front doorway and ordered around 10 customers to keep their heads down place their hands on top of the tables. The other suspect confronted employees of the restaurant and demanded they hand over cash from the register.

The two suspects then fled the restaurant heading southbound.

Both suspects were described as either white or Hispanic men with thin builds. One of the suspects was said to be approximately 5-feet-6-inches tall and the other, photographed by a surveillance camera in the store, is believed to be approximately 5-feet-11-inches tall.

Both men were dressed in black hoodies and ski masks.
