Reward For Information In Las Cruces Shooting

Las Cruces – Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering $1,000 for information that leads to the identification and arrest of the person who fired at least one gunshot that struck a man's leg as he left a party early Sunday morning.

Shortly before 3 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 8, Las Cruces Police were called to a local hospital after a 22-year-old man walked in with an apparent gunshot wound to his lower left leg. The injury was not life-threatening, and the victim was treated and released.

Detectives learned that the man was leaving a party near Stanford Street and Vassar Court when someone fired several gunshots. One of the shots struck the victim's leg. The victim told detectives that he then drove to Mountain View Regional Medical Center where he received treatment.

Police believe the suspect may have been in a white car, possibly a Grand Am, Cavalier or similar-model vehicle.
