Reward In Las Cruces Area Burglary

Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that helps identify the suspect or suspects responsible for stealing weapons and farm equipment from a residence in Mesilla Park.

The Dona Ana County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the burglary that is believed to have occurred sometime in either late December 2012 or within the first two weeks of January 2013. The burglary, possibly committed over the course of several hours or days, was at a home on the 800 block of Pajaro Road in Mesilla Park.

Taken during the burglaries included an orange Kubota tractor with tiller, various farm tractor implements, six rolls of 6-foot-tall chain link fencing and four rolls of 4-foot-tall chain link fencing, two centrifugal pumps, a red air compressor, a portable air tank, a red 20-ton jack, a new microwave oven and various other tools and items.

Firearms reported as stolen include a .38 caliber snub-nose handgun, a .38 caliber handgun with a 6-inch barrel, a .357 caliber handgun, five .22 caliber rifles, a 30-30 Winchester lever-action rifle, a 30-30 single shot rifle, two 30-06 rifles with scopes, a .243 caliber rifle with scope, a .270 Parker Hale rifle with scope, a 16-gauge double-barrel shotgun and a 30-40 Krag rifle.
