Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect who brandished a knife Wednesday morning and used it to threaten a 15-year-old before taking the victim’s personal property.
Sometime between 8 and 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, a 15-year-old boy was approached by a man near the area of Frenger Park. The man used a knife to threaten the 15-year-old and demanded that the boy hand over a bag.
The suspect then fled on foot northbound on west Park Drive where he crossed Boutz Road and continued running toward Durazno Drive.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his late 30s or early 40s, around 5-feet-6-inches tall and weighing approximately 150 pounds. He has a goatee and was wearing prescription glasses. He was last seen wearing dark-colored sweat pants, a dark hoodie and a gray Oakland Raiders cap.
