Reward In Las Cruces Armed Robbery

Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that helps identify the two men suspected of an early-morning armed robbery and shooting that left a hotel clerk hospitalized.

At around 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, two men entered the Econo Lodge hotel at 2585 S. Valley Dr. and confronted the 24-year-old clerk. One of the men jumped over the front desk counter and threatened the clerk while the second man pointed a handgun at the clerk.

The Econo Lodge clerk was airlifted to University Medical Center of El Paso with a gunshot wound to his leg.

Both suspects are believed to be Hispanic and in their 20s.

The armed suspect is believed to be about 5-feet-9-inches tall with a heavy build. He was wearing a white shirt, a dark gray zipper-front hooded jacket and blue jeans. He was armed with a semi-automatic .22 caliber handgun.

The second suspect was also said to be about 5-feet-9-inches tall but with an average build. He was wearing a light gray zipper-front hooded jacket, dark-colored pants and a mask that partially concealed his face.
