Reward In Las Cruces Attack

Las Cruces – Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 cash reward for information that leads to the arrests of the men who physically assaulted a 23-year-old this past Saturday in Berino, N.M.

At around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, the 23-year-old man was walking from his sister's home, near Parque Avenue and Candelaria Street in Berino, when he was approached from behind by two men who struck him in the head with what is believed to be a solid object.

The victim received a fractured skull and numerous bruises, and lost consciousness. He was initially transported to Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces and then to University Medical Center of El Paso. His injuries are not life-threatening.

The two men who assaulted him were said to be Hispanic. The Dona Ana County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.
