Reward In Las Cruces Burglary

Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the identity and arrest of the man suspected in Tuesday’s robbery at an apartment complex.

Shortly after noon on Tuesday, March 6, Las Cruces Police were called to the Regency Pointe apartments at 3000 Majestic Ridge where a tenant returning home apparently interrupted a burglary in progress. The woman told police that she noticed the front door to her apartment was open and upon entering the residence was struck in the head by a man.

The man hit the woman several times and then left with the victim’s purse. The woman’s injuries were relatively minor.

The suspect is described as a black male around 6-feet tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds. He was said to have a muscular build with short, curly hair and a goatee. The suspect was wearing a red shirt with white stripes.

The suspect may have left the area in a dark blue Chevrolet Monte Carlo, possibly driven by someone else and with other occupants.

If you have any information on the identity of the suspect, or any information that may help investigators, you are asked to call Las Cruces Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or send a tip via text message to LCTIPS (528477).
