Reward For Robbery Suspect

By KRWG News

Las Cruces – Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the man who assaulted a woman in Anthony, N.M., on Oct. 31 and then drove off in her vehicle.

The Dona Ana County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident that occurred near the intersection of First Street and Anthony Drive.

The victim, who works for Great American Pizza, was in her red Dodge Durango and parked at the intersection selling pizzas from her vehicle when the suspect approached and demanded money. The man then began to assault the woman who fought him off and ran across the street to call 911. The suspect drove off in the woman's vehicle which was later recovered by sheriff's deputies.

The suspect was described as being approximately 5-feet-5-inches tall, and was wearing a black sweatshirt and brown sweat pants with a black stripe. He also wore Nike tennis shoes and a face mask that resembled the villain from the movie "Scream."

Sheriff's investigators have reason to believe that the suspect may still be in the Anthony, N.M., area.
