Richardson Awards More Film Program Grants

By KRWG News

New Mexico – Some $200,000 has been allocated for film and digital media programs at Northern New Mexico College in Espanola and New Mexico State University's Grants campus.

Gov. Bill Richardson says the money will be used to purchase equipment and to expand existing curriculum at the schools.

The money is being allocated through the governor's media fund.

Each of the schools will get $100,000.

The Espanola college will use it for equipment as well as to help expand its film and digital media arts program and increase summer internship offerings.

NMSU's Grants campus will use the money to buy equipment and expand its creative media program to do outreach in rural communities and schools.
