Emily Guerra bridges the community on this edition of PUENTES with StoryCorps Mobile Senior Coordinator, Rose Kue, with the largest oral history project in our community.

StoryCorps is a national nonprofit oral history organization that travels the country recording stories from local residents about their lives and what is important to them.  StoryCorps was founded in 2003 by Radio Journalist, Dave Isay, while working in Chicago with inner city kids.  He was trying to record a story about their lives. Kue said that Isay's work with these youth was the inspiration for StoryCorps.

If you would like to have your story recorded and archived at the American Folk Life Center at the Library of Congress, make an appointment with StoryCorps at 1-800-850-4406, or visit their website at storycorps.org.
