Roswell Academy Gets $9 Million Contract

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — The International Law Enforcement Academy in Roswell has been awarded a $9 million federal contract to continue its training programs for officers from around the globe.

New Mexico Sens. Jeff Bingaman and Tom Udall say the contract will enable the Roswell academy to conduct 10 training sessions a year.

The special academies were created by the U.S. State Department to train international law enforcement officers as part of an effort to improve the professionalism of police forces around the world and to slow transnational crime.
