"Run with Your Doc" In Las Cruces Benefits Health Care for the Homeless

Las Cruces – Doña Ana Community College (DACC) will host the second annual “Run with your Doc,” to benefit St. Luke’s Healthcare Clinic on Saturday, February 27, 2016. Last year’s race included 625 runners who helped raise $30,000 for the clinic.

Organizers hope to have even more runners this year. “This is a great race that benefits our most vulnerable population in Las Cruces,” said race organizer Dr. Catherine Kemmer. “This is a great opportunity for the community to come and enjoy the camaraderie and the thrill of running or walking with their favorite doctor while contributing to a great cause.”

All types of doctors will lead their teams including, medical doctors, veterinarians, dentists, NMSU and DACC PhDs. There are races and walks for everyone. Awards will be given in all categories. The doctor’s team with the most members will garner the coveted team trophy.

“The event last year, helped us make it through a challenging time,” said Pamela Angell, Director of the Clinic. “This race is very important to the clinic and we thank everyone who participated last year and those who will participate this year.”
