Sandia Ranger District Closure Order and North Fire Temporary Closure Order

  Albuquerque, NM- To ensure both public and fire fighter safety, a Closure Order has been issued for the following areas within the Sandia Ranger District:

All National Forest System lands, roads, and trails within the boundaries of the Sandia Ranger District south of Interstate 40. Trails affected by the closure area: Trails 05630 Gear Grinder, 05161 Wild Turkey, 05237 Cedro Creek Nature Trail, 05238 Drop In, 05604 Ponderosa, 05610 Rocky Top-County, 05543 Powerline, 05636 Pine Loop, 05240 Cedro Peak, 05612 Poker Chip, 05162 Turkey Trot, 05049 Cajun Pine, 05236 Blue Ribbon, 05195 Faulty, 05145 Tunnel Canyon, 05106 FS Road 106 Motorized, 05530-530 Road, 05632 Meadow Singletrack, 05626 Rattlesnake, 05605 Rabbit Run, 05606 Lower Pine, 05625 Cedro Singletrack, 05627 Meadow Ridge, 05628 Lone Pine, 05027 Bear Scat, 05607 Pinyon, 05184 Chamisoso, 05635 Pine Flat Connector, 05257 Mighty Mule, 05622 Delberts, 05617 ATV Bypass, 05620 Coyote-Chamisoso Link, 05623 Middle, 05624 Jackalope, 05618 Gamble Oak, 05633, Gambel Spur, 05637 Oak Flat Connector, 05602 Mahogany, 05619 Coyote, 05057 Gnasty, 05851 Coyote Split Top, 05268 West Ridge, 05056 Otero Canyon, 05048 Cajun Turkey, 05639 Deadman, 05610 Rocky Top, 05106 FS Road 106 Non-Motorized, 05638 Easy Pickin', 05640 Caida Del Pino, 05411 Birdhouse, 05641 Three Bottles, 05642 West Boundary, 05643 More Turkey and 05050 Southern Crossing.

Roads affected by the closure area: FR 462, FR 13, FR 12, FR 542, FR 252, FR 242 and Oak Flat Road .

Campgrounds affected: Cedro Peak Camping Area (Jay and Robin)

Picnic Areas affected: Oak Flat Picnic Area including Yucca, Locust, and Oak Flat Trailhead and Pine Flat Picnic Area 'A' & 'B'.

A temporary Area Closure has been issued in the vicinity of the North Fire.  All National Forest lands, roads, and trails effected by the closure area: Trail 92, Trail 91, Trail 36, Trail 37, Trail 37 A and Trail 38.

Roads effected by the closure area: FR 330, FR 378, FR 138, FR 138A, FR 56, FR 52, FR 549 from the intersection with FR 220 to Bear Trap Campground.

·       Fire fighters assigned to the North Fire

·       Local, State, and Federal law enforcement officers in the performance of an official duty

·       Members of an organized Search and Rescue force

·       Residents accessing private property via a restricted Forest Service road, to the extent necessary to gain access to their private property.

This order shall remain in effect until December 31, 2016, or until rescinded, whichever occurs first.  Thank you for your cooperation.
