Santa Fe Man Pleads Guilty In Brother's Death

A 43-year-old Santa Fe man accused of fatally shooting his brother and dumping his body has pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and tampering with evidence.

Felix Rodriguez is to be sentenced Thursday on the convictions stemming from the March 2012 killing of David Martinez, whose body was found near the Santa Fe River.

Felix Rodriguez pleaded guilty Monday. He had told police he shot his 53-year-old brother in self-defense because he feared that his brother would shoot him after the two began fighting.

A revolver found on David Martinez's chest was determined to be the same gun used in the Feb. 23, 2012 killing of Santa Fe artist Ethaan Boyer during an apparent burglary of Boyer's home.

Police say evidence found at the Boyer home implicated David Martinez.
