Santa Fe Man Pleads Guilty In Embezzlement Case

A Santa Fe man has pleaded guilty to embezzling more than $42,000 from a New Mexico tribe over an eight-month period.

Prosecutors say 60-year-old Ramiro R. Flores entered into a plea agreement Thursday.

They say Flores will be required to pay restitution to the San Ildefonso Pueblo in an amount to be determined by the court and also be sentenced to probation.

Flores was indicted last October on six counts of embezzlement from a tribal organization.

According to the indictment, Flores embezzled $42,856 from San Ildefonso Pueblo between June 2011 and February 2012.

At the time, Flores was employed as the program director for the Pueblo's Parks and Wildlife Program.
