Santa Fe's cache as a tourism destination is growing.
New Mexico's capital city ranks No. 2 in this year's Condé Nast Traveler's annual Readers' Choice Awards for U.S. cities, up from No. 4 last year.
The top spot went to Charleston, S.C.
Santa Fe hotels also were recognized.
La Posada de Santa Fe Resort & Spa was No. 19 in the ranking of Top 25 Resorts in the Southwest. And five Santa Fe hotels were ranked among the Top 10 Hotels in the Southwest. Inn of the Five Graces was ranked No. 1, Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi was No. 2, Inn and Spa at Loretto was ranked No. 5, Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado No. 6 and Inn on the Alameda, No. 8
