El Paso – The U.S. Small Business Administration and the Hub of Human Innovation entered into a two-year strategic alliance to collaborate on assisting the small business community.
“The strategic alliance with the Hub of Human Innovation will enable us to create more opportunities for the small business community and expand our reach to individuals that are looking to start a business,” said Phillip Silva, District Director of the SBA El Paso District Office.
The signing of the strategic alliance was completed at The Hub of Human Innovation headquarters yesterday.
“This partnership with the SBA is vital to serving the needs of rising innovators and entrepreneurs in the El Paso region,” said Joe Wardy, President and CEO of the Hub of Human Innovation. The services offered by the SBA are major tools for new and expanding businesses in our community. We are excited to be a part of this important alliance.”
The Hub of Human Innovation, also known as The Hub, is a technology incubator that nurtures the development of technology-based businesses, helping them survive and grow especially during the start-up period when they are most vulnerable. They also assist technology-based businesses that are expanding, relocating, or need direction to move their business forward.
In addition to one-on-one counseling, The Hub provides facility resources such as computers, work stations, printers, and common meeting areas. Clients can choose to use the facility services intermittently, or have a dedicated workspace for reoccurring use.
The SBA El Paso District Office will collaborate with The Hub on future workshops with a focus on exporting, high-tech start-ups, access to capital, and minority-owned businesses. SBA and The Hub will work together to ensure that El Paso entrepreneurs stay up-to-date on resources that are available to start and grow a business.
