Science and Art are a SNAP! at the Las Cruces Museums

The Las Cruces Museum of Nature & Science and the Las Cruces Museum of Art invite children and their families to join us each Saturday in October from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm for SNAP!: The Science, Nature, and Art Program.

Recognizing the importance of interdisciplinary learning experiences, the program encourages visitors to embrace their artistic creativity while engaging in educational STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) activities.

October 3              Animal Adaptations: Discover interesting facts about the animals in our current exhibitions.

October 10             Recycling: Learn about the importance of sustainability and make an art project from recycled materials.

October 17                Myths and Legends: Explore folklore and illustrate your own story.

October 24             Fibers and Weaving: Learn about textiles and create a project inspired by Navajo rugs.

October 31                Optical Illusions: Join our Mad Scientists for spooky science.

This family program will be held in the atrium, between the Museum of Art and the Museum of Nature and Science. The museums are located at 411 – 491 North Main Street and are open Tuesdaythrough Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  For additional information, visit the website at: http://las-cruces.org/museums or call 575-541-3120.
