Search Resumes For Firefighter In NM Forest

Crews are back out searching for a Forest Service firefighter who has been missing in the Santa Fe National Forest in northern New Mexico since Friday.

Forest Service spokeswoman Karen Takai says 100 searchers are on the ground Monday looking for 41-year-old Token Adams in the area of Jemez (HAY'-mus) Springs.

He failed to return to a pre-arranged rendezvous point Friday afternoon with two other firefighters who also rode ATVs to size up the perimeter of a 25-acre wildfire.

Takai says the search area initially covered about 25 square miles but has since been expanded to about 30 square miles.

Forest Service spokesman John Helmich (HEL'-mihk) says the lightning-started wildfire was fully contained late Friday.

Searchers include search and rescue crews, volunteers and firefighters.
