North Mesquite Street will be closed to through traffic at the intersection of east Madrid Avenue beginning Wednesday, September 25, at 7 a.m. The road closure will be in effect for approximately 5 days for the installation of an 8-inch water main as part of the Utilities Rehabilitation Project 2013.
The road closure will begin at the intersection of east Madrid Avenue and continue north on Mesquite for 200 feet. Northbound traffic will be detoured east on east Madrid Avenue, north on Solano Drive, and west back to north Mesquite Street.
Eastbound traffic on Madrid will follow the same detour as no left turns will be allowed at the intersection of east Madrid and north Mesquite. East and west bound lanes on east Madrid will be diverted around the work zone through the intersection. The diversions will change as the work zone progresses from north to south at the intersection. Access to businesses along east Madrid north Mesquite will be maintained at all times.
Motorists wanting to avoid possible delays should seek alternate routes. The road closure will not affect any RoadRUNNER Transit routes.
