New Mexico State Police say a man suspected of shooting another man in Bayard is in custody.
Authorities say 39-year-old Joseph Sifuentes, of Silver City, was arrested by Grant County Sheriff's Deputies on Friday afternoon without incident.
State Police say Sifuentes is accused of shooting the victim in the face and neck inside a home early Thursday.
The unidentified victim was airlifted to a hospital in El Paso, Texas, where he is in critical but stable condition.
Investigators are still investigating what led to the shooting.
Charges have not yet been filed against Sifuentes.
