State police say a Silver City woman who stopped her car along Interstate 10 in southwest New Mexico was hit by another car and killed.
The Department of Public Safety says in a news release that 22-year-old Jeanette Orozco was walking around her stopped car at about 10 p.m. Saturday when she was struck.
The driver of the other car turned around and used his car to block lanes so Orozco wasn't hit by other vehicles.
State police are investigating.
