El Paso – The next iteration of Soldiers from the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, return to Fort Bliss from Iraq, this afternoon at approximately 4p.m. at Biggs Army Airfield.
This early re-deployment of approximately 350 Soldiers is in conjunction with the Dec 31, 2011 final with drawl, from the Iraqi theater of operations. The unit deployed to Iraq in August of this year.
Their mission was to train, advise and assist the Iraqi Army and Security Forces. Soldiers will continue to redeploy to Fort Bliss over the next several weeks.
Maj. Gen Dana J.H. Pittard commander 1st Armored Division and Fort Bliss will be at the e arrival ceremony along with family members.
