Soledad Canyon Day Use Area Closed Wednesday And Thursday

Las Cruces, NM – The Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Las Cruces District Office announced today that work will start to resurface the entry way and parking lot for the Soledad Canyon Day Use Area.  This work necessitates closing the area to vehicle traffic on Wednesday, January 16 and Thursday, January 17.

The work will help mitigate vehicle impacts to the neighbors who also use this road to access their private land and homes.

"We regret the inconvenience, and hope the public will take advantage of the many other recreational opportunities in the Organ Mountains.  Guest may visit the Sierra Vista Trail, Baylor Pass Trail, and Dripping Springs Natural Area.  These are all accessible from Las Cruces and from Dripping Springs, Soledad Canyon, and Baylor Canyon Roads," said Tom Phillips, Supervisory Recreation and Cultural Resources Specialist.
