Las Cruces – The New Mexico Spaceport Authority has issued a request for proposals from companies seeking to handle day-to-day operations at Spaceport America.
Spaceport Authority executive director Rick Homans says companies that receive the state contracts "will be on the front lines as we establish day-to-day operations for our launch customers."
The Spaceport Authority is seeking operators in general services, which includes operations and maintenance; protective services, including site security and safety; and technical services, which includes airfield and launch support, information technology management and flight safety engineering.
Mandatory pre-proposal meetings and visits to Spaceport America have been scheduled for Dec. 1-2 for interested companies.
