New Mexico State Police say they've arrested a convicted felon and seized thousands of rounds of ammunition and 39 firearms after executing a search warrant in Laborcita Canyon.
Police say they received information that 48-year-old David Hiles was allegedly in possession of firearms.
They say Hiles has a lengthy criminal history and was arrested for being a felon in possession of firearms.
He's being held on a $5,000 cash or surety bond.
It was unclear Wednesday if Hiles has a lawyer yet.
Las Cruces police and the Motor Transportation Police Department helped execute the search warrant Tuesday morning.
