State Police Chief To Retire

New Mexico – State Police Chief Faron Segotta says he is retiring after 28 years.

The decision is effective Dec. 31.

Segotta said Friday he has accepted a job with SAFER New Mexico Now, a nonprofit organization that strives to reduce death and injury on the state's highways.

Segotta was commissioned as a state police officer in 1982 and served various assignments throughout New Mexico. He was named chief in March 2006.
