Sunday "Yarn Bombing" At Las Cruces Tent City

On Sunday, the group Las Cruces Knit Charm is conducting a 'yarn bomb' at Camp Hope with over 200 hand-knitted and hand-crocheted items.  Items include over 150 handmade washcloths and 12 afghans.  There will be 33 individual scarves that will spell a special message for residents when hung side by side.

Las Cruces Knit Charm states it exists to use knitting to create a positive impact on our community.  Local crafters began working on this project in the spring of 2013. They spread the word through online crafting communities.  Knitted and crocheted items poured in from around the country as part of Operation Stay Warm and Operation Clean Fun to benefit the residents of Camp Hope.

Camp Hope is located at 999 West Amador Avenue in Las Cruces on the Mesilla Valley Community of Hope campus.
