Supreme Court Refuses Texas Death Row Appeal
The U.S. Supreme Court has upheld the murder conviction and death sentence given to a Fort Worth man for a 2010 convenience store holdup that left two men dead.
The high court without comment Monday refused an appeal in the case of 38-year-old Kwame Rockwell.
A Tarrant County jury decided in 2012 that Rockwell should be executed for the fatal shooting of 22-year-old Daniel Rojas, a clerk at a southeast Fort Worth store.
Evidence showed a 70-year-old deliveryman for Mrs Baird's bread, Jerry Burnett, also was gunned down during the robbery.
Rockwell was arrested four days later in San Antonio after trying to flee from police.
Rockwell does not have an execution date.
