Suspect In 10 Las Cruces Auto Burglaries Arrested

Las Cruces Police have arrested a man suspected of burglarizing at least 10 vehicles over the weekend.

Isaac M. Bonnett, 24, of the 400 block of Ithica Court, is charged with 10 counts of auto burglary.

Detectives learned that at around 3 a.m. Sunday, June 21, a resident who lives on the 2600 block of Crestview Drive was arriving home when he spotted someone rummaging through one of his vehicles. The resident ordered the suspect out of the vehicle and called 911.

Officers arrived to find the suspect, later identified as Bonnett, attempting to leave the area on foot.

LCPD officers then canvassed the area and discovered nine additional vehicles that had been burglarized. In all, nine of the burglarized vehicles were on Crestview Drive while one vehicle was found to be burglarized in Telshor Boulevard. Bonnett is suspected in all 10 of those burglaries.

Bonnett was booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center. He has since been released on a $1,000 secured bond.
