Suspect Sought in Las Cruces Convenience Store Robbery

Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that helps identify the man suspected of the Monday evening robbery at a local convenience store.

About 9 p.m. on Monday, July 9, a man entered the Eagle Quik Mart, at 2110 N. Alameda Blvd., and made it look as though he was going to make a purchase. When the cashier opened the register, the suspect punched the cashier and grabbed the cash drawer.

The suspect fled the store and ran south. He was seen entering a dark-color, 4-door sedan that was described as “boxy.” That vehicle was last seen leaving a nearby apartment complex and heading south on Alameda.

The suspect is said to be African-American, in his mid-30s and about 6-feet-1-inches tall. He was wearing a black T-shirt, red shorts and red shoes. He was also said to have full-sleeve tattoos on both arms.

Anyone with information that can help identify the suspect is asked to call Las Cruces Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Tips can also be provided through the Las Cruces Crime Stoppers app. “P3 TIPS.” The app is available through the App Store on most devices.

Those who provide tips through Crime Stoppers do not have to leave their own name and can remain completely anonymous.
