Teachers Lose Jobs After Teen Party Allegations

By KRWG News

Farmington, NM – The Farmington school superintendent says two teachers are no longer with the district after being accused of supplying alcohol at a birthday party for their teenage daughter.

Superintendent Janel Ryan says that based on a board of education hearing in November, 43-year-old Edward Fincher and 42-year-old Orla Fincher no longer work for the school system.

The couple face three counts of selling or giving alcoholic beverages to minors. They are accused of holding a Sept. 11 party at their home that included a keg of beer.

Ryan says school officials placed both Farmington High School teachers on paid leave Sept. 20 after learning of the allegations.
