Teen Charged In Robbery

By KRWG News

Las Cruces – Las Cruces Police have charged an 18-year-old for his involvement in the February 2008 armed robbery at a Wienerschnitzel restaurant.

Jimmy Alejandro Sauceda, of the 2200 block of Entrada Del Sol, was charged Tuesday, March 23, with one count of armed robbery. Because Sauceda was 16 at the time the crime was committed, a Juvenile Class III citation detailing the charges will be forwarded to the juvenile probation office.

Las Cruces Police detectives learned that, through the course of an investigation by detectives with the Dona Ana County Sheriff's Office, Sauceda referenced his involvement in the Feb. 28, 2008, armed robbery at the Wienerschnitzel restaurant at 2135 E. Lohman Ave.

Just before midnight on Feb. 28, 2008, police were called to the restaurant where store employees said three men, each armed with a handgun and wearing a ski mask, entered the business and demanded cash. The suspects fled the area heading toward San Juan Avenue.

The identities of the other two suspects are still unknown.
