Texas Abortion Battle In Austin

Abortion-rights supporters at the Capitol to oppose an abortion restrictions bill are taking aim at state leaders with some satire.

Many of the more than 1,000 protesters gathering outside the Capitol Monday wore orange shirts with the words "Unruly Mob" on the back. That's what Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst called the raucous protesters last week who shouted down senators trying to vote on the bill.

Gov. Rick Perry called lawmakers into a 30-day special session to address the bill after a Senate filibuster and the crowd helped defeat it last week.

One sign seen Monday read, "Life begins with a new governor."

The crowds were rapidly growing Monday, with blue-clad supporters of the bill singing "Amazing Grace." Some anti-abortion protesters wore red tape over their mouth with the word, "Life."
