Texas Murder Suspect Arrested In Las Cruces

A man wanted for murder out of Fort Worth, Texas, was arrested by Las Cruces Police Wednesday after a short vehicle pursuit.  Donald Fourqurean, 54, was detained at around 3:30 p.m. and is expected to be booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center where he will most likely be held without bond while he awaits extradition to Texas.

Las Cruces Police learned that Fourqurean had absconded from Texas and was possibly in the area of Las Cruces and driving a 2004 Nissan z350 with Oklahoma license plates. A nationwide warrant had been issued for Fourqurean.

Shortly after 3 p.m. Wednesday, Las Cruces Police officers spotted the Nissan traveling westbound on Amador Avenue near Mesquite Street. Officers attempted to pull traffic on the vehicle but its driver, later determined to be Fourqurean, refused to stop.

Fourqurean led police on a brief pursuit which ended on the 500 block of 2nd Street. Fourqurean was taken into custody without further incident.

A female passenger in the Nissan is being questioned by police. At this time, no charges against the woman are anticipated.

Fourqurean is wanted by police in Fort Worth for a December 2014 homicide that claimed the life of a 46-year-old man.
