Texas Woman Pleads Guilty To Federal Charges In NM

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KRWG) A 45-year-old El Paso, Texas, woman has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana with intent to distribute.

Hortencia Lozano De Beltran entered her plea in federal court in Las Cruces last week.

Beltran also pleaded guilty to counts of distribution of cocaine, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute and using a minor to commit a drug trafficking offense.

No sentencing date was set.

The charges stemmed from a two-year Drug Enforcement Administration investigation into a cocaine trafficking organization operating in southern New Mexico and El Paso.

Beltran admitted participating in a conspiracy to possess more than 5 kilograms of cocaine with the intent to distribute between May 2009 and June 2010, delivering cocaine to an undercover agent in Albuquerque and making other cocaine deliveries.
