Three Arrested In Las Cruces Burglary

Las Cruces Police have arrested two men and a woman believed to be responsible for committing a residential burglary Tuesday in the unincorporated county.

Jesus A. Coronado, 30, also known as Jessie Giron, Matthew D. Palacios, 23, and Arlene Palacios, 20, were arrested on Tuesday and have been charged with one count each of burglary of a dwelling, larceny and conspiracy.

Las Cruces Police officers learned of a residential burglary that was committed Tuesday morning on the 3300 block of Karen Drive, just outside city limits. Officers observed a white Chevrolet Impala – occupied by Cornado, Matthew Palacios and Arlene Palacios – leaving the crime scene and heading back into Las Cruces.

Officers followed the vehicle to 465 Linda Vista in Las Cruces where Coronado was seen entering and driving away in a gold Ford Focus, while the Palacios couple switched vehicles and left in a green Jeep Cherokee. Shortly thereafter the Ford Focus and Jeep Cherokee were stopped by police who discovered possibly stolen items in the Cherokee and several tools that are commonly used to commit burglaries in the Focus.

A subsequent search of Coronado’s home also yielded property believed to be stolen from another home in Dona Ana County.

Coronado, Matthew Palacios and Arlene Palacios were all booked into the Dona AnaCounty Detention Center with bonds set at $10,000 each.

Anyone with additional information on the three suspects, or on any other burglaries that have not yet been reported, is asked to call Las Cruces Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Tips can also be sent via email to lcpdtips@las-cruces.org.
