"Toxic Testing" Forum Planned For Santa Fe

Santa Fe -  The public is invited by NEA-New Mexico and NEA-Santa Fe to participate in an open community forum regarding “Toxic Testing and It’s Impact on Students and Teaching.”  The one-hour forum takes place Tuesday, September 9, 5:30—6:30 PM at the NEA-New Mexico headquarters building, 2007 Botulph Road, Santa Fe (one block south of St. Vincent Hospital, across St. Michael’s Drive).

The forum is formatted to encourage community conversation on these topics and features a brief initial presentation of information by NEA-

New Mexico President Betty Patterson.  “The over-testing of students in Santa Fe, New Mexico and nationwide is proving detrimental to student achievement,” notes Patterson.   NEA-Santa Fe President Grace Mayer and Local leader Patricia Gay-Webb will co-facilitate the conversation.

The formal forum will be followed by an opportunity for additional informal discussion and tasty complimentary refreshments, provided by NEA-New Mexico.   This is a FREE educational event.   It is the first of several such local community forums planned by local affiliates of NEA-New Mexico on this and other hot educational topics.
