Traffic Signal Installation Planned at Amador Avenue and Main Street In Las Cruces

A new traffic signal will be installed at the intersection of Amador Avenue and Main Street. The installation will occur the week of January 15.

New signal lights and mast arms will be installed. The new and existing traffic signals will be in place and visible until the signalization can be transferred to the new system and the existing system is removed.

The signal is being upgraded to meet current safety standards and to accommodate the redesign of the road at the intersection. The existing traffic signal system will remain operational until the new system is brought online, to lessen the down time of the signal.

When the transfer of the signal systems occurs, the work will be performed at night to minimize disruptions and increase safety for motorists.

The installation is part of the Downtown Two-Way Conversion and Revitalization Project, and is being constructed by Morrow Enterprises, Inc. in conjunction with the City of Las Cruces.
