Tree Permits On Sale

New Mexico – New Mexico forests are putting Christmas tree permits on sale Monday.

Sales will last through Christmas Eve.

Christmas tree permits include the tree tag, information on cutting regulations and maps.

Santa Fe National Forest offices and vendors in Los Alamos, Santa Fe, Pecos and Las Vegas will sell personal-use permits for $10.

Cibola National Forest offices are selling permits for $10, with a limit of one per household. Cibola officials say up to nine additional permits can be purchased for family or friends.

The Gila National Forest will have permits at ranger district offices for $5 each, limited to one per household. The Gila has free permits for pinon trees.

The Carson announced earlier it would sell permits beginning Monday. The Lincoln began selling permits earlier this month.
