Las Cruces – The New Mexico National Guard will hold ceremonies in Las Cruces, Rio Rancho and Roswell as a send-off for troops being deploying to Kosovo later this month.
The guard said a yellow ribbon ceremony is planned Saturday at the Las Cruces Convention Center, and one will be held Sunday in Rio Rancho at the Santa Ana Star Center.
A ceremony is scheduled Jan. 13 at the Roswell Convention Center. All of the events are open to the public.
About 450 members of the New Mexico National Guard are going to Kosovo on a one-year peacekeeping mission. The guard units are based in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Las Cruces, Rio Rancho and Roswell.
