Trucker Describes Horrible Conditions In Mexican Prison

A Dallas trucker arrested after crossing the U.S.-Mexico border with 268,000 bullets says his seven months in a Mexican prison were spent in a nine-person cell with only five beds.

Jabin Bogan maintains he was on his way to Phoenix to deliver the ammunition in April, when he took a wrong turn and crossed the border. He returned to the U.S. on Friday after his release from prison the week before.

Bogan said Wednesday that for most of his time in the prison, he slept on the floor. He says he worried the Spanish-speaking inmates around him were conspiring to hurt him, but no inmates ever physically attacked him. He says a cellmate who spoke Spanish helped him navigate prison life.
