LAS CRUCES, N.M. – A southern New Mexico man has been arrested for allegedly sex trafficking children by force. A New Mexico State Police officer in Alamogordo received information that 63-year-old Daniel Joe Fleeman had a felony federal warrant out for his arrest. Fleeman was taken into custody at an apartment complex in Tularosa Nov. 22.
State Police Lt. Tim Johnson says Fleeman's arrest was a result of an investigation state police turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement in January, which resulted in a federal grand jury indictment and the warrant.
According to a federal complaint, Fleeman allegedly transported a young girl and caused her to engage in a sex act for money.
Trial before U.S. District Court Judge Robert Brack has yet to be scheduled.
