Deming – Two men were being held on charges of homicide and conspiracy to commit homicide in the death of a Deming man found stabbed in an alley.
Deming police on Friday booked 25-year-old Donald Lee Word and 19-year-old Ronald Hall. Police say they are transients.
Bond was set at $80,000 for Word and $70,000 for Hall.
They are accused in Friday's death of 41-year-old Raymond Sandoval.
Police Chief Michael Carillo says officers were sent to the area after a call about two men beating a third.
Carillo says efforts to revive Sandoval were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at Deming's Mimbres Memorial Hospital.
Authorities say Sandoval had a knife wound to the lower abdomen.
A knife was found in an empty lot near the area where his body was lying.
