Two Teens Suspected in Las Cruces Burglary Spree

Police have arrested two teenagers suspected of breaking into and burglarizing several Telshor area businesses in February.

The 14 and 15 year old boys are each charged with six counts of non-residential burglary, two counts of criminal damage to property over $1,000, three counts of criminal damage to property under $1,000 and three counts of larceny.

On Feb. 12, 2017, Las Cruces Police learned that five adjoining businesses at 755 S. Telshor Boulevard were broken into. Police determined that property was damaged or items missing from Mother Earth, Tiffany’s Pizza, Elle Gem, Oriental Medicine and Studeio 3 Salon and Spa.

Officers also noticed what appeared to be urine and fecal matter in one of the businesses.

Investigators collected evidence from the businesses including video surveillance. Officers were able to identify one boy from the video.

Investigators spoke with the boy and learned that he and the other suspect  broke into one of the stores on the night of Feb. 12 and then, once inside, used a hammer and fire extinguisher to make entry into the adjoining businesses. Investigators also learned the two teens broke into the nearby J.C. Penney store at the Mesilla Valley Mall where they also stole merchandise on the same night.

Both juveniles were arrested March 13 and booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center. They both were initially being held without bond.
