Two Weekend House Fires In Las Cruces

  Las Cruces Fire Department extinguished a fire at a mobile home late Saturday night.
 
Las Cruces Firefighters were dispatched to the 2200 block of Holiday Avenue just before midnight Saturday for a residential structure fire.  The first arriving fire crew witnessed heavy flames and smoke coming from the structure.  The initial fire crew had the blaze contained within minutes after arrival.  
 
Prior to fire personnel arrival, one adult female occupying the home was able to evacuate with the help of an LCPD officer.    
 
The mobile home suffered fire and heavy smoke damage.   
 
Las Cruces Firefighters were dispatched to the 400 block of West Ethel Avenue for the second house fire just before 5:30 Sunday morning.  Heavy flames and smoke were seen coming from the side of the house.  The initial crew had the blaze contained within minutes. 
 
The adult male occupying this home was able to evacuate without harm.
 
The cause and origin of both fires are still being investigated.  Damage estimates are not complete at this time.  The American Red Cross is helping the occupants of both homes. 
 
There were no reports of firefighter injuries.
